I bought my 92 Lumina Z-34 in 2001.
Had to rebuild the transmission and eventually had to rebuild the engine. I loved to drive the car, it met its end, however when my boyfriend drove it under a semi. I still have the engine and the transmission, but now I'm having trouble finding another body. The closest I have found one is up by Chicago. I've been looking for 3 years.

i.e. Mechanics
manual from Helm Publications & a good code reader/Scanner, From EZ Scan, I own EZ6000 Only $275.00 that's an XLNT Bargain yours will purr like mine with no guess work. and changing the plugs is a snap since I notched the sheet metal seam at the rear hood above the plugs. the rubber seal hides it. there really good cars if you know them Intimately.
I could afford a new $30,000 car, but I luv Driving my Z
and STILL get compliments ooooos & ahhhhhs.
Z-Luver forever.
I just bought a 92 Z-34 Black. It sat for a couple years I was told. I put a lot of work into the brakes and engine, but I am still having a problem with the idling speed. Until the car runs for at least an hour, it will idle at over 2500 rpms. I have had a few mechanics look at it. Any ideas on what could be causing this considering all fluids, filters, and hoses have been filled, checked, changed, or cleaned...

I have a 92 Z34 and have had the same stalling problem, but had fawned it to the idle air control valve (IAC) it did not send a code the engine lite never came on it tuck me 6 months to
figure it out. 5mun and $80 to fix have had no problems sense.
I have 220,000 miles on it and would drive it any were love the car will never sell it.
I bought a 92 Z34 Lumina (Automatic) in late 06 I havn't had many problems with it just power-steering pump and lines and now I have a leak in the oil pan. From what people that I know have said I have a lifter out in the engine it is making a loud knocking noise everytime I start it up and press the gas. I have about 200,000 miles on it has been a great car for me. Might gusseled down the gas and need a lot of Oil, but it was worth spending $2500 on it. Any questions contact me at harvey.long@US.army.mil or Pamelaoppy@sbcglobal.net
I have a 92 Lumina Z34.
I've had to replace the timing belt and everything that goes with it; cost me about $1100...
Anyway, what I really want to ask about is that in the winter, like another guy said up above, it takes about an hour for the car to finally settle down and not rev up like crazy. When I start it up after it has sat for a few hours, it revs to 3000rpm until the limiter cuts it out. I'd just like to know why this is...
I love the car, it's my first one... if anyone could possibly help me, please e-mail me @ chub_720@msn.com
Thanks.
Hello to ALL Z-34 OWNERS.
I just own one 1993 Z34 (white) last october, it has 187K miles with blewn timing chain, it was sold to me for 200$. right now its up and running beautiful. this weekend I am suppposted to buy other 92 Z34 (red) for only 150$ without engine and tranny : (but the body has only 120 K on it. anyone got 3.4 DOHC running/ trans (5 speed getrag) to sell if I could buy it?
I am planning this for next winter, 93 W Z34 engine n tranny will be swapped in red Z34 then the new project in white Z34 would be changing it to RWD with maxed out 427 corvette w 6spd in it. slam it low, wide track rim/tires, hope make it 285 in Rear, 255 in front.
Anyone who wants to sell Z34 this cheap? I'm here to buy it and restore it.
My older brother owns Z34with 5spd only 87K miles (1992 red) with 95 3.4 dohc swapped in it becuase of 95-97 got bigger gap valves so it breathes more horses.
My friend owns 1994 Z34 with aboyt 64K miles on it, AUTO.
We are seriously about Z34/ 3.4 DOHCS/GETRAG 5spd.
NEED THOSE GETRAGS!! and 3.4 DOHCS too! thanks.

I have a 92 z34 that dumped the timing belt. It ran great before the belt went so I bought the parts, was going to do the job myself but didn't have time because of the work thing, so I took it to a mechanic. Now it runs like crap and it vibrates when it is in overdrive (it's a automatic) I've taken it back to the mechanic twice and he swears the cams are right, yet the car still runs like s--t! It only has 130000 miles on it and the body and interior is immaculate. I really love this car and don't want to get rid of it but it actually hurts to drive it while its running this way. I know how sweet it runs when it is right and I just want my baby back! So this repair has cost me over $1000 and this mechanic can't fix it. He says the E.S.T isn't working, Could that have happened as a result of the timing belt breaking. Anyone know a good mechanic on Oahu who can fix my car. This last guy couldn't do it. Personally I think the cam timing is a little off. Anyone have any advice! I'm at the end of my rope! Help!!!
You might have bent the valves when the timing chain broke. If it's a non-interference engine, the valves could have slapped the pistons when the timing chain broke.
