Chrysler Centura Reviews from Australia and New Zealand
1976 Chrysler Centura KB GL 4.0
A high performance bargain
Passenger side seat badly ripped from years of use and sun damage.
These car's are pretty plain standard, but can be turned into a rocket with the famous 265 hemi six pack engine the 4.0 came with around 180 horse power they are cheap power house with a boot load of torque.

I have a 1975 245 Hemi powered Centura that in stock form except extractors is an absolute rocket. It's finished in pale yellow, light grey vinyl roof with white interior. Its up for sale for $3500.00 Australian.Would suit enthusiast as has no visual rust and runs extremely well.Contact me on 0408 406 101 for more details.
1976 Chrysler Centura KB 4.3 litre
302+hp, 1160kg.. You do the maths
Previous cars I have owned had their auto's fail.
These cars started life as a small french passenger car, the Simca 180, with european interiors, european handling and a tiny 1.8 litre 4 cylinder engine.
Chrysler Australia needed a small economy car that still used Australian engine parts... So they put the Australian built 4.0 litre 'Hemi' in them. It did reduce the handling, but not overly so. Performance however was startling.
The 4.3L version of the 'Hemi' with its 302hp (225Kw) once held the title of fastest accelerating production 6 cylinder in the world... In a 200kg heavier car (and I think still is for non-turbo cars).
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Don't Know

I own a KB Centura with a warm 245 4 speed and 3.23 diff. I've just fitted 100hp nitrous. This should wake her up.
This car has had a complete ground up rebuild. With a set of Toyo hill climbing tyres on, she handles like a dream! Sure surprised me!

I own a 1975 KB GL 245 3speed that I bought new on 15 May 1975. Has done 342,000 km and has been simply a superb totally original car. Won't ever sell it as there is nothing that would replace it. Kids today that see it have no idea what it is, it is funny to see them bending their necks trying to get a look at it!
