Rear ball joint collapsed, causing the wheel to cave and bite the rim.

A/C lost gas.

Ignition failure.

Window regulator driver's side failure.

Door panels coming loose.

General Comments:

It generally starts... But forever repairs! A relative had an Odyssey, and it had been a good work horse, although I believe this one had a hard life. As time goes by, a lot of features on these cars start to fail if not treated with respect.

ABS repairs are expensive and the car became uneconomical to repair, so it was scrapped.

It's roomy, and being AWD is handy.

Bad gas consumption of around 9km/l in real conditions.

2005 Honda Odyssey 2.4L 4 cylinder

Summary:

Stylish, Japanese-made family wagon

Faults:

The rear park assist kept beeping when reversing, even if nothing was there. It was an intermittent fault, so was very difficult for the dealer to find.

General Comments:

Overall a very stylish, comfortable car. The only downside was the noise. The roads in New Zealand have a very rough surface to shed water, and this car made any long trips quite tiring, by transferring all road noise into the cab. Around the city, with smoother roads, I'm sure it would be fine.

I bought this car for my wife to use, as it was one of the few family cars, that at the time, had full curtain airbags.
