1986 SAAB 900 EMS 2.0 unleaded

Summary:

Get 900 Aero turbo instead

Faults:

Master cylinder seals worn and spring had to be replaced.

2nd set of brakes.

Clutch plate replaced.

Slave cylinder had to be replaced.

Power steering pump leak.

General Comments:

Runs really smooth and quiet on the highway at speeds of 140kmh.

Needs a 98 octane fuel or an octane booster to stop the pinging in the engine.

Good safe car to drive with plenty of power on the flat, up hills it's a little sluggish at the car is very heavy.

1986 SAAB 900 EMS 2.1L

Summary:

Excellent car

Faults:

Alternator belts had to be replaced shortly after I brought it.

Front engine mount had to be replaced - very cheap.

LHF Driveshaft boot had to be replaced.

General Comments:

As you can see, the car required very little work over the period I owned it. It was not a fast car in terms of acceleration, but it cruised well at speeds over 100k.

The best thing about the vehicle was that after 16 years I could not find 1 speck of rust.

I now own a 1993 Saab 900 aero. Another brilliant car.
