1978 Mercedes-Benz W115 - 200 Petrol 2.0

Summary:

I love the drive, need to explore it further

General Comments:

The car is splendid to drive the sound-proofing still exist, but the rain proofing has diminished. Any ideas on how to get replacement parts for the rubber linings especially on the body & doors?

Need to know :

There is a small pedal-like switch next to the clutch pedal. Can someone please tell me what it is & what is it used for?

It's the handbrake- or more appropriately a kind of foot brake (since operated by foot). To release it you have to pull a handle near the left air vent (on the left of the steering wheel).

The foot switch is for the wiper/washer.

Hi. The round pedal beside the clutch is a switch for the wiper. The handbrake (or 'footbrake' if I may call it) is located at the leftmost side.

For safety, try stepping on it while the engine is on and the handbrake engaged.

I hope this helps.

Its the switch for windscreen washer.

Why don't people establish the facts before placing comments here?. The item on the floor beside the clutch pedal is for the windscreen wash wipe. The hand brake is the handle protruding from the dash to the right of the steering column.
