Faults:

Waste-gate actuated too early, causing too low maximum boost. Had done own modification and now max boost is set to 0.4bar.

Changed the engine fan to electric radiator fan.

Other than that everything else is tip-top condition.

General Comments:

Fantastic performance and comfortable car, not many makes that I had owned, such as the BMW 525, Peugeot 405, and the Ford Telstar V6 can match it. Powerful, yet smooth engine and auto transmission. Real comfort that gives a safe feeling to all occupants.

Makes you feel like piloting a jet fighter, it just takes off majestically at any traffic light.

For long distance travel, it only consumes 8.25ltr/100km at 110km/h.

Faults:

Mileage meter doesn't work. Had the absorber replaced because it was giving out a loud banging noise. Better now. Key switch wasn't able to return to proper mode (stuck in ignition mode) thus burnt my starter and alternator. Cost me a bomb to have them repaired (so was the side powered mirror that was broken my an inconsiderate motor rider).

Above and beyond that the Volvo 740 is a princely car.

General Comments:

A princely car. Worth every penny. Wouldn't get any other make of car... has to be a Volvo. More powerful and stylish than my Volvo 240 GL. Front view is more elegant in looks when compared to the square look of its behind.
