1984 Chrysler Fifth Avenue 5.2 V8

Summary:

It is a great car to have

Faults:

Nothing has really gone wrong with the car. All that it has needed was a routine tune up. It had some stalling, but all I had to do was put some fuel system cleaner in it and clean the battery terminals.

General Comments:

This car is quick as heck. It has great pick up and rides like a dream. If you get a chance to get a Chrysler 5th Avenue I suggest you get it. The 318 (5.2 V8) engine will run forever. You will drive the car to the junk yard because the body is rotting off.

1984 Chrysler Fifth Avenue

Summary:

That's My Boat

Faults:

I had a minor problem with leaking power steering fluid, but it was quickly and easily repaired.

General Comments:

It's been in 2 accidents and no damage has occurred to it yet. My hula dancer and fuzzy dice fit well on the dashboard and mirror.

1984 Chrysler Fifth Avenue

Summary:

The worst car on the market

Faults:

The car STALLS wwhen you drive slow, come to a light or turn a corner.

General Comments:

This car is dangerous to drive. I have spent a large amount of money to try and repair this problem however nothing seems to work. The repairman dreads to see me come back.

Your problem is the ignition controller mounted on the air cleaner. Convert it to a Direct Connection Mopar 5 pin box. $140 for the kit and performance in every way will not disappoint you.

Is that all? On a car that is dangerous to drive as you claim this one is, more things go wrong than a car stalling, or seeming to, as it turns. Come on, a review has to be longer than this. We understand you think this Chrysler is a bad car, but what we're here for, why people read reviews on this site, is to hear *why*.

This car for the price is great, the 318 is Chrysler's best. You can't go wrong... I'm looking at one with 80000 miles for 1200 bucks. Is that a steal or what? Thanks.

I'm looking at picking one up for $700. Needs a new water pump and gas lines. Only 70k miles, and she is BEAUTIFUL inside and out. Probably gonna get it.

1984 Chrysler Fifth Avenue 5.2L 318 V8 w/2bbl

Faults:

The only repairs needed have mainly been normal wear and tear items like tires, rear brakes, exhaust, alternator. The lower rad hose was replaced. There are 2 known leaks - valve cover gaskets and tranny pan.

General Comments:

I consider this as being a very reliable car for 15 years of age. All parts are easy to find and the dealers still stock parts at reasonable prices. Repairs are simple and most can be done at home. It handles well for a big car and offers a comfortable ride. Absorbs just about all bumps on the road.
