Just purchased this vehicle, have previous Subaru and Mazda 5 comments listed on this site, both were flawless vehicles. Want to chronicle my experience with the Escape for others interest. I chose the S model for its simplicity and the 2.5 litre engine. Will do regular updates.

My first year end comments; the Escape has been flawless, no rattles, handles well and about 25 MPG.

Closing in on 50000 km and still flawless, not even a squeak. Fuel economy is 8.1 L per 100 km city/ hwy.

Closing in on 70000 km and still running like a top. During an oil change a tech saw seepage from what turned out to be the front main seal, all fixed under warranty, no hassle. Still love this vehicle, gas mileage now 8.0 per 100 km.

At 91000 km this vehicle is still running like a top. Average mileage on dash recorder now 7,9km /100km. The Ford paint looks like new, even the windshield hasn't cracked yet, think they use thicker glass than the foreign car makers. This base Ford Escape with the 2.5 engine is a great vehicle, highly recommend.

101000 km and still running flawlessly, 8.0 l / 100 km still looks new... what can I say... great vehicle.
