2015 Lexus RX 350

Summary:

Garbage

Faults:

Very, very disappointed with the car!!! First it has an extremely loud engine and a louder exhaust system; sounds like you're driving an old beat up car.

When it comes to all the nice electronics we would expect in a vehicle priced so high? Well there are none; my daughter's Pontiac Wave has about the same in cabin features :(..

Cruise control is as basic as it comes. No controls or vent in the back seat, or even a USB port. Do not leave your heaters off at night or else the car cabin will stay cold, even though you started your car on those winter mornings.

Basically I can go on and on about this very disappointing SUV.

So in a nutshell, a very noisy engine, exhaust, and very, very basic in cabin features; something you would expect in a 25,000 dollar car... VERY, VERY DISAPPOINTED.

General Comments:

NOT WORTH THE MONEY!!!

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? No

I do not get the car heater comment whatsoever. Please explain it with more detail.

Did you test drive it? If you thought the engine was too loud and it didn't have enough features, why did you buy it???

The best years for Lexus was 1990 to 2005. That being said, the drawbacks are they are older and not as reliable as a new car. Also newer cars have more safety and technical features. It's a trade off. If you can keep up an older Japanese car, then that is perfect because they are built better than new cars. Newer cars take a beating on labor costs, utility costs, safety, smog regulations and taxes. They have to build them faster and cheaper with more robots involved to cut costs. The best year for the RX was 2002, but its time has come and gone. And buying a used one with possible problems and high mileage might not be everyone's cup of tea...

Correct... why did you buy it?

Idle speed is very high, even in the summer. That is absolutely ridiculous. I have to wait for 5 minutes for the idle speed to drop down before I start driving the car. Engine and exhaust are loud, and I didn't expect that from Lexus/Toyota. I just hope that reliability is good in the future. Fingers crossed.
