1995 Mazda Millenia

Summary:

This car is junk

Faults:

I have a 95 Millenia. I have had it for almost a year, and I will never buy one again!

Right from the start, my trans sucked. It takes forever to shift into third, and and my rpms go up to like 5 while doing so.

I also have had a problem with it over heating. I don't drive a lot, just to the store and to pick kids up and what not, and I can't even count on it for that.

I would tell anyone looking to buy this car, don't, it will nickle and dime you to death!

1995 Mazda Millenia Standard Not sure

Summary:

Okay, but not perfect

Faults:

This car is not perfect, but it is reliable. Two major things have gone wrong. First, the clearcoat has been coming off everywhere. It looks horrible since this has started. Second the car burns oil bad. Not sure where it is coming from, but it really sucks it down.

General Comments:

Its okay, not my cup of tea. However, it is very reliable and I believe it would last a long time if well taken care of. I might like it more if the darn clear coat wasn't coming off all over the car.

1995 Mazda Millenia 2.5 Liter

Summary:

Looks great, but don't get too attached to it

Faults:

I bought my 95 Millenia in July of 2006 with 96K miles on it. It ran great until it hit about 100K miles. The ABS stopped working, so I pulled the fuse to avoid this irritation. Next, the check engine light came on. The light disappeared after I sat it for a week while away on vacation. But, now with 102K miles, the light has returned and the car is running rough. I take care of this car above and beyond the regular preventative maintenance, but things keep breaking. This car is (mechanically) THE MOST FRUSTRATING vehicle of the many I have owned and driven. My good friend is a professional mechanic and refuses to bother working on it for me. On the plus side, the car looks great. The seats are very comfortable and the ride is smooth and powerful. Unless you have a bottomless wallet, avoid this car. The repairs are much too expensive and much too frequent. Get a Honda-they are more common and easier to work on.

1995 Mazda Millenia LX 2.5 V6

Faults:

The only thing that I can really see wrong is the sensor issues with the transmission. I just replaced a cv shaft... very common. Anyways I know there are people that have the TCS light that comes on. that is a leaky vacuum line on the air bypass valve. very easy fix. I am trying to figure out the tranny issue, but it's a good car.

1995 Mazda Millenia 2.5

Summary:

Nice ride, but expensive to maintain

Faults:

Sensors, sensors and more sensors. This car has numerous sensors and relays that can cause problems. I had a problem which caused the car to stop at random. On one occasion it stalled in the middle of a busy intersection and almost killed my family. Over a 10 month period I spent over 1500 dollars at several shops including the dealer to trace the problem and no luck. Finally I saw a reference in a chat room to the same problem. It suggested unplugging a particular sensor. I did it and the car has not stalled since that time. (Thank God for the internet). I have replaced all of the wheel bearings and CV joints. Apparently they are a common problem on these cars as well.

General Comments:

It is a great looking car and very comfortable, but not as reliable as a Toyota, Honda or Nissan. Be prepared to spend a lot of money for maintenance.

What did you unplug? I have to know!

I have the same problem with my sensors. I was told last year that I needed two sensors replaced. Since then my car stalls and cuts off from time to time. I know realize that I can unplug the sensor and keep on riding because the car itself runs well.
