1993 Mitsubishi Diamante LS 3.0 V6 DOHC

Faults:

Horn, power window "driver rear", and some of the interior lights have gone bad for some reason. I blame my cousin though for not taking care of it.

General Comments:

I love it! Handles great for a car that's 15 years old.

Only complaint is the horn doesn't usually work, but only works when the alarm goes off.

Acceleration was terrible upon delivery, but quickly changed when I put a tank of premium in it "THIS CAR DOES REQUIRE PREMIUM"!

It also takes about 4 seconds to start, but yet again I blame my cousin for not keeping up with the poor thing.

In all it is great! It feels very safe and heavy!

1993 Mitsubishi Diamante

Summary:

It was a great car in its day

Faults:

The main problem is that it has burned oil from the day I bought it. When I pick the kids up at school, they knew it was me, even in the dark. Smokes that bad I didn't change oil for years, just added more The air went out at about 150,000. The starter switch has seemed to be going out for about the last 3 years.

General Comments:

I have not taken good care of this car, but it doesn't want to die. I've tried every kind of abuse to kill it so I could get a new car. I finally gave up and passed it down to my daughter when she turned 16. It's riding pretty rough and prabably won't make it another year, but I've been saying that for 5 years now. It has 212000 miles and nearly 14 years old. With very little maintenance.

1993 Mitsubishi Diamante EX 3.0 litre V6

Summary:

Extremely good car for price, looks, and performance!

Faults:

I have not had my car for too long, but thus far I have had no problems except the power antenna!

General Comments:

I am very impressed with the acceleration and handling of my car.

Having had my car mostly during the winter months I have been thoroughly impressed with its handling on the snow and ice!

It is a very sharp looking car!

Comfort is extremely good as driver and passengers!

Handles high speeds really well.

My car only has 89000 miles on it so it has some time for something to go wrong, but I have had no problems with it and enjoy driving it both in town and on road trips!

1993 Mitsubishi Diamante ES 3.0 Liter SOHC V6

Summary:

A reasonably quick car for a reasonably inexpensive price

Faults:

Rack and Pinion went out. $750 to replace.

Burns oil a little bit.

A mesh exhaust pipe rusted out. So I put a whole new Magnaflow exhaust on it.

General Comments:

Car is quite fast for a 3.0 V6.

Handles very well in corners.

Still running strong at 177000 miles.

I have 17 inch rims on it.

I put a cold air intake on it.

I replaced the old battery with a new Optima 6 pack battery.

I have NKG brand spark plugs and Taylor wires.

I put 35% tint on the windows and a Mitsubishi symbol in 15% tint on the back two windows.

1993 Mitsubishi Diamante ES 3.0 Liter

Summary:

Good for long distance traveling, but not for quick

Faults:

The ball joints had to be replaced because when you went down a hill, the wheels would make a grinding noise.

A Idle monitor had to be replaced because the car would stall when stopped at a stop light or the car was idling. $500 dollars!!!

Oil leaked for a while until I tightened the engine block cover.

Still burns some oil though.

General Comments:

Good acceleration and comfortable on long trips to the ski resorts. Good in snow, ABS brakes work well and handles well on bumpy windy back roads. High speed and highway handling and stability are incredible.

Lack of power to pass or to climb long hills and the transmission get confused when climbing a hill and doesn't react when you floor it. When you press the "overdrive off" button, the car slows down really quickly and the transmission clunks. Also, sometimes to get up hills, I have to move the shifter down from "D" to "2" and the car does the same as the "overdrive off" button.
