1995 Mitsubishi Diamante LS 3.0

Summary:

Because of the poor resale value, these are a great deal to buy used

Faults:

Not much has gone wrong with the car. Just standard maintenance. The gasket around the moon roof came loose. I was able to fix it myself. The stereo stopped working and I had to have the head unit replaced. I took it to the local stereo store rather than the dealer, who I avoid whenever possible. The radio power antenna has had to be replaced as it gets iced up in winter and the gears in the power motor get stripped.

General Comments:

I find this car enigmatic. There are things about it I like a lot. As an LS model, the car is very luxurious. I like the full power lumbar seats, the leather interior, and the classy clock in the middle of the dash. The stereo is excellent as well, although I'd prefer a single CD in the dash to a changer in the trunk. To improve this car I would have had a pass-through from the trunk for long items. I would also have had an extra power outlet for accessories so you don't have to have the ashtray open all the time. I also do not like the placement of the cup holders, they are mounted too high on the dash. I bought this car from a dealer, it had just come off a four year lease - with only 16,000 miles on it. With snow tires on the front wheels it is an excellent winter car, which is what I now use it for. I drive a Pontiac Trans Am in the summer and I enjoy the transition to a classier car in the winter!

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Don't Know

How weird my new Diamante came with everything you just said was wrong with your one. I have the cupholders down the bottom and the boot opens up so I can fit large things in it, and the whole thing is controlled by a computer.
