2005 Mitsubishi Lancer RalliArt 2.4L

Summary:

Great, sporty, reliable car

Faults:

The timing belt replacement was an issue, because of the cost of replacement ($1000.00 at the dealer).

Another issue is the rear fender wheel wells, which aren't coated with any rubber seal or protection, so rock chips chip off the paint, causing the wheel wells to rust.

Fuel mileage (7.1L/100Km ---> 12.2L/100Km). That is the range. From Summer to Winter.

General Comments:

Great reliability!!!

I managed to put 135000km on the car now, and I haven't even replaced the brakes.

Aside from simple liquid changes on the vehicle, the car is problem free!!

It's great on the highway, and amazing in the City.

Thule makes a GREAT fit kit for the roof-rack, that doesn't mount to your door, rather it mounts to the roof rain gutter...

There is a trailer hitch available for it, by Curt Hitches, which hides behind the factory skirts rather well.

It can pull a seadoo, sled, or ATV with a small trailer rather well with the 2.4L engine. (Shares the same engine as the Mitsubishi Outlander).

Made in JAPAN! Great quality... and with the change in Lancer model body, the cost to own one of these has gone down (in Canada) so it's a great deal.

Much more sporty than a Civic or Corolla.

Great quality!!! :)

2005 Mitsubishi Lancer OZ-Rally 2.0L 4 cylinder

Summary:

Excellent purchase, practical and reliable, yet cute and sporty

Faults:

So far, nothing has gone wrong with the car, and I really don't drive like a grandmother.

General Comments:

Pretty good acceleration, considering it's only 120HP, but it's definitely struggling if I've got 4 other people in the car and I'm going up an incline.

It is a bit light, maybe this is why it's so zippy, but it does make it a little tedious if you're driving on the highway on a windy day.

I also find it skids fairly easily in winter conditions, this might be due to its weight as I find it grips the road a bit easier if I keep a couple sandbags in the trunk during winter. Also, this model doesn't come with traction control or even anti-lock braking. Winter tires are definitely recommended.

Really good turning radius, a definite improvement on earlier models. Excellent handling overall actually, although it does tend to shimmy at speeds over 140km/hr.

2005 Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart

Summary:

Reliable, fun to drive..3 stars out of 4

Faults:

Door Handles Rattle.

General Comments:

Gas Pedal and Brake too close, causes you to brake and accelerate at the same time.

Not a very quite car inside, can hear road underneath you.

Car handles very well on dry roads, has good gitty up for a small engine.

However when it is snowy the car slides very easily because it is so light.

The gas mileage is usually around 24-26 mpg on highway and in city.

Very easy to maneuver in city because it is very easy to see out back and front of car.

Seats are very formed and feel very good on back.

However if you don't fit in the seat (you are to wide, car has good head room considering how small it is) the seat can be uncomfortable.

Back seat is big enough to have a 6 ft person in drivers seat and 6 ft person in back of driver.

Ample trunk space with fold down back seats a plus!

2005 Mitsubishi Lancer OZ Rally Edition 2.0 gasoline

Summary:

My family had 3 Lancers and they are awesome and economical cars with a spice of sportiness

Faults:

I had no problems with this car yet.

But our previous car which is a '96 Lancer Gli had a radiator leak at about 120,000 km and we had to replace the fan thermostat at 122,000 km.

General Comments:

The car is very reliable and very economical.

You can barely here the engine running at idle.

It is also sporty and it has good handling.

It boasts a stock, but brilliant six speaker system

The interior is all black with leather and looks really good.
