2006 Mitsubishi Raider DuraCross 4.7L V8

Summary:

Decent truck worth picking up

Faults:

Fender flares starting to come unglued, dealership re-glued. That's all so far.

General Comments:

V8 could use more power behind it, of course it's the same V8 they put in the non-Hemi Dodge Rams. Gas mileage is WAY below the EPA ratings, my stepdad owns a Dakota with same engine (Dakota is a rebadged Raider, both are built by Dodge) and he gets almost 20 mpg hwy, he says it'll get better when I get a few thousand miles on it, right now I'm getting about 13-14 all around.

1987 Mitsubishi Raider 4 cylinder

Faults:

Had to replace something on the front end that broke. It kept the tire from moving side to side. Maybe the rocker arm. I am not sure what it is called. The usual maintence like clutch, brakes, and shocks. All this after 100,000 miles. I bought the Raider used with 104,000 miles and I am not sure what the previous owner had done to the vehicle.

General Comments:

Great vehicle for my needs. I have heard many good comments since I bought the Raider a year ago. I heard the Mitsubishi 4 cylinder engine is one the best engines and very low maintence. There are still many Raiders or Monteros around the Island that look very nice. Great for getting to the beach that are down in valleys with very steep roads that only four wheel drive vehicles are allowed on. I also use the Raider to drive on lava rock trails that lead to the beaches, it's a bumpy ride but the Raider handles it well.

1987 Mitsubishi Raider 4 cylinder

Faults:

Clutch went out at 110,000 miles.

Gas gauge doesn't work.

General Comments:

Great SUV for the money. Very reliable and can handle size 31 by 9.50 tires no problem even up steep hills. I still see many of the Raiders or Monteros around in good condition.
