2008 Pontiac Wave Sedan

Summary:

A lot of car for the money.

Faults:

Chipped windshield 1st month. Not the Wave's fault, but I wonder about the quality of the glass.

General Comments:

You get what you pay for and and for a "loaded" car (including sunroof and A/C) under $20K it's a nice little car.

Doesn't feel as cheap as some other models. The seats are very comfortable. My sr. citizen Mom thinks they're better than my Dad's Jetta.

I do a lot of highway driving and I feel safer around the SUV's and minivans because I'm up higher than most smaller cars and can see better. This also makes it easier to get in and out of.

I love the trunk. I can't believer how much space it has.

2008 Pontiac Wave Base Sedan 1.6

Summary:

A great buy for economical drivers

Faults:

2 hours after we got the car home from the dealership, we couldn't get it out of park. We had to use the Shift Lock release mechanism to release the gearshift. We would have brought it back for repair that day, but, they were closed. That said, it took the dealership 5 days to get the new shifter assembly in and the car repaired. It is a good thing they paid for a rental.

General Comments:

This car has very sporty looks for a cheap price.

The huge amount of cabin space gives the feel of a much larger vehicle.

The high sitting position is a real plus. We can almost look mini vans drivers in the eye.

Further to this particular car. We had the car back from the shop for 3 days and the problem happened again. The car wouldn't come out of park and this time the brake lights weren't working. The dealership rented another car for us and proceeded to strip the brake pedal switch from a car in inventory.

So far in the 11 days we have owned this car, it has been available to us for 3 drivable days. Total of 734 km's.
