1998 Daewoo Espero GLE 1.5 DOHC

Summary:

The best of Daewoos with no successor

Faults:

In general poor quality of materials in interior, the power windows has very weak engines, so it takes long time to open them and even more to close. The switchboard on driver's door died and had to be replaced. The bedrings I front wheels had to be replaced after 60 000 kms, in rear ones after 80 000. Some rust is visible, but only on front left wing.

General Comments:

It is a really great car comparing to it's price.

I bought it from the dealer as a new one.

Never had problems with engine, transmission or suspension.

It is a very good car for everyday use, I can rely on it.

I wish it has more powerful engine, mine has 92 hp and the acceleration is acceptable only above 3500 rpm.

1996 Daewoo Espero CD 1.8

Summary:

You will never find a better car for this money

Faults:

Seats were bad after about 200000 km.

General Comments:

This car is almost great.

It is very comfortable, delicate, but fast, it has much room inside, very big trunk.

For somebody who drive a car in a sport style the suspension is a little to soft, but it is very easy to correct it.

1999 Daewoo Espero CD 1.8

Summary:

Good value for its price

Faults:

Fuel filter leakage at 20000 km - replaced under warranty.

General Comments:

It is good car for everyday use.

It has big trunk, but you cannot insert a 14-inch TV set in the package.

Enough comfort for long journeys, but the rear seats could have higher backs.

Workmanship and accuracy of the interior finish is something to discuss.

It's surprisingly silent inside.

The suspension gives quite good control on the highway and still it's high enough to go off road.
