2016 Audi A4 Ultra SE 2.0 TDi

Summary:

My favourite car so far in over 25 years of driving

Faults:

Nothing in my one year ownership. The car has low mileage and has been looked after well. All I have done is the cam-belt kit as it is required maintenance at this age.

If I am being really picky - the A/C is weaker now and the exterior has a few marks. The drivers seat is also looking a bit saggy. But it is a ten year old car.

General Comments:

Fast, reliable, economical, spacious, quality feel, what more can anyone ask for in a car?

The A4 really is a superb all round vehicle.

Interior is perfect for me with all the electric features you would expect. The car rides smooth and is at its best cruising on motorways.

2.0 TDi with manual transmission is the one to go for. Excellent performance and 50 mpg + if you drive carefully.

Lovely in grey. A dull colour, but this car has such clean lines and a handsome look I think it would look good in any colour!

Hard to believe 2016 was ten years ago. There is nothing, I repeat nothing, on the new car market that I would change it for, it really is ahead of its time this car, as cliche as that is to say. How are they going to entice people into boring electric vehicles when cars as good as this have been about for decades? Audi really nailed it with the A4 as long ago as the late 1990s. And by the 2010s they are updated and refined to near perfection.

2016 Audi A4 Sport 1.4 TFSi petrol

Summary:

I like it

Faults:

Nothing.

General Comments:

Comfortable, smooth, reliable, modern, spacious, fun to drive... I have little if anything negative to say about this 2016 Audi A4 in bright white. I love this car.

Expensive to buy initially (even used), but general running costs aren't too bad assuming you don't have any problems. Always buy a looked after car. Full Audi history on mine.

I was unsure at first about the 1.4 petrol engine. A test drive however proved to me it had enough power. Plus, over the past year or two I have also averaged over 40 mpg (if you drive carefully), making this engine well worth considering over the more common 2.0 TDi units. It is a quiet and refined unit also.

Interior has all the features you can imagine on this "Sport" model. Seats are comfy and sporty looking. I am an old guy and could not care less about the digital functions and phone connectivity, but they are all there for those that want them. Call me old school but I just need electric windows, a nice set of alloy wheels and I am happy!

The car is thoroughly enjoyable to drive. It really is the perfect all round car. The A4 has changed very little over the years, probably because Audi know they have a winner and don't want to mess with a winning formula. That's a smart move on their part. Some say the executive sedan is dead but I beg to differ; the roads are still full of them, if you look past the usual modern "crossover" nonsense vehicles you see around that just do not appeal to me. I'll stick with a classy traditional sedan.
