1989 Fiat Uno 45 Formula 0.9 petrol

Faults:

Persistent overheating, blowing head gasket, seats and steering column came loose, seatbelt failed, brake master cylinder failed, engine mountings wore out - all before 40k miles.

General Comments:

Bought as a cheap-to-run car but ended up costing more than the Alfa it replaced because it went wrong so often, despite being a one owner, low mileage, dealer fsh car.

Cheap on fuel and insurance. Good handling, lovely steering, horrible ride. Fiat dealer was an absolute disgrace.

1989 Fiat Uno 45 1.0 petrol

Faults:

Easily overheats, heating never works, the most uncomfortable seats ever!!!, in addition to the fact that the car can only take turns at 20mph, handbrake is a bit dodgy and generally the steering is too loose so it feels like power steering but you don't get the benefits!!

General Comments:

It's a decent first car, don't get me wrong, for a new driver; the Uno does its job for about a year, the insurance is low, the mpg is incredible and the chances of your car getting nicked is between none and slim-jim. It is also amazingly reliable, But as soon as you get better on the road change to a better car - FAST!!!

1989 Fiat Uno 45 1.0 petrol

Faults:

Front brake pads, rear brake shoes, rear brake cylinders, master cylinder, throttle cable snapped, petrol cap disintegrated, rear screen washer hose broken, reversing light switch becoming erratic.

General Comments:

I have had this car for about 18 months now and apart from the odd niggly fault it is a pleasure to drive, a cheap car that I can fit 4 people in comfortably and extremely economical (around 50 mpg).
