2012 Honda Accord ES GT Tourer 2.0 iVTEC

Summary:

Spacious, comfortable and reliable

Faults:

Nothing serious. I look after the car very well, all services done. The car was bought used in 2020, but had a full service history from Honda main dealers.

General Comments:

Estate "Tourer" Accord is a very sharp looking and practical car. I have had this one a while now and it has never let me down.

GT model has lovely leather seats and all the electric features you need. It is a very competent motorway cruiser. Super practical. Loads of space for passengers and luggage.

Very good looking in silver with original Honda alloy wheels.

Nice to drive. The 2.0i petrol engine is reliable and has enough power for a heavy estate car. Not that good on fuel, getting about 36 mpg on average, which is still OK I suppose. All other running costs are pretty cheap.

Holds its value well for a 14 year old car, it's still worth 75% of what I paid for it 6 years ago, even with higher mileage, but that was just before used car prices went insane.

Plan to keep it as long as possible, it is very modern for its age, and I can see no reason to "upgrade" to anything more modern, this car does it all.

2012 Honda Accord i-DTEC EX 2.2 diesel

Summary:

A fine executive saloon

Faults:

Used dealer replaced DPF (common diesel fault) as the light came on during test drive! The car had low miles for its age and was otherwise in good order, so I bought it with peace of mind and warranty.

General Comments:

Got a great deal on this 2012 Accord in blue. Very nice looking car.

EX model has plenty of extras, very nice interior. The car is fun to drive, plenty of power. Not quite as economical as I expected (only managed 46 mpg so far, claimed average is 52) but I am enjoying driving it soo much I probably accelerate a bit too enthusiastically!

Plan to have it a long time if it proves reliable, so far so good.

They are good cars; the Accord is still holding value well even at over ten years old; an equivalent Vauxhall Insignia or Ford Mondeo is cheaper, but the Honda Accord is the better car and worth the extra in my opinion.
