1995 Honda Civic Ferio 1.5 Carburettor petrol

Summary:

Fantastic Car

Faults:

Nothing important really -just a few small bits and pieces.

The Passenger Window Mirror was smashed when I bought the car, but this was replaced for less than 10 Euro.

General Comments:

This car was an amazing buy for me. I must admit I do have a soft spot for it as it was my first car after moving from the world of motorbikes. It is an incredbly easy car to drive with great power steering. It is also very nippy.

The car had all the comforts you could ask for power windows, air conditioning, comfy seats etc.

The best thing about the car was it's price. I bought the car for 700 euro with no NCT. Six months later I sold it for 1600 euro with no NCT (National Car Test Certificate). The car was perfect.

A great Japanese import car, which I would love to buy again... maybe I can track down the current owner and buy it back.

1995 Honda Civic LSi 1.5 petrol

Summary:

Solid and reliable car, with reasonable performance too

Faults:

Legendary Honda reliability, so far nothing out of the ordinary has gone wrong with the car.

Front brake pads needed replacing due to normal wear and tear.

Only other niggle is a squeak from the clutch, however I think this is just a dry hydraulic piston pivot rather than any serious bearing wear.

General Comments:

Nice looking car, with nice low chassis and good feel around corners.

Performance isn't bad for this size of car from only a 1.5 engine; really picks up from 3000+ rpm and revs to over 7000rpm however the engine is a little harsh sounding at higher revs.

Fuel economy is good around 40mpg and the engine doesn't use any oil; Honda engines seem well built and likely to run for many thousands of miles with no problems.

Grey interior is pretty characterless, but gets the job done and feels solid and free of rattles.

Overall I have really enjoyed owning this car and I think the Civic is a credit to Honda. I would happily buy another Honda, maybe one day I might get my hands on the Civic Type-R :-)

Ah-ha - mine wasn't the only LSi with a squeaky clutch then. I agree with everything that's said here. A lovely, reliable car that regularly hit 40+ to the gallon, even when driven fairly enthusiatically.

I never got bored with the car even after 6 years - it was stolen and wrecked so now I'm looking for another car. Guess what? An LSi or ESi of similar vintage is right near the top of the list - and I'll buy an immobiliser...

1995 Honda Civic VTi Hatchback 1.5

Faults:

Nothing at all yet.

General Comments:

It's a good fast car with lovely grunt when revved hard, I would appreciate it if someone could comment on this review and let me know its 0 to 60 time and top speed. I have not had an opportunity to time it myself.

Sounds like you got a Japanese import Vti or it would have been a 1.6l engine.

0-60 in just over 8 seconds it'll do 120+. If it is the import then I've found it very hard to get independent performance figures for this.

The UK and Ireland 1.6 Dohc VTEC will do 0-60 7.7sec and 130 mph flat out.

1995 Honda Civic VTi 1.6 petrol DOHC

Summary:

Pulse raising, smile inducing racer

Faults:

Passenger side door lock system repaired. Still inconsistently locks door.

Cassette/radio reception is poor. Needs a multiplay CD system!

General Comments:

Fantastic performance, best experienced on B roads, although brakes do not instill confidence.

Poorly supportive front seats, and unattractive dash, lacking in central console.

The exhaust noise says it all.

Ours is a pearlescent black and is called Linford!

1995 Honda Civic LSi Coupe 1.5 petrol

Faults:

Nothing.

General Comments:

A good car, a little on the large side for a coupe, could be a little bit more comfortable (seats) and better quality interior (rear seats).

Mechanically sound.
