1999 Honda Integra Type R 1.8

Summary:

Reliable with performance to boot

Faults:

No faults what so ever, does seem a little bit thirsty on oil though.

General Comments:

This is just a great car, from the looks to the engine, a fine example of motor engineering.

Its so quick in a straight line, but also corners extremely well.

1999 Honda Integra Type-R 1.8 VTEC petrol

Summary:

Nearly as much fun as sex

Faults:

Poorly fitted airconditioning unit. Dealer repaired it without a problem.

General Comments:

Awesome handling, will keep up with any car on the road down a twisty country road if you've got the bottle.

It's an Acura Integra, not Honda.

steven@carsurvey.org:

The Acura brand only exists in North America. This car is from the UK or Ireland and so is correctly recorded as a Honda Integra.

Best Wishes,

Steven.

I saw a lot of H decals on Acura Integras. Wonder why they have done this?

1999 Honda Integra Type-R 1.8 petrol

Summary:

Extreme fun that will make you laugh

Faults:

Dealer fit alarm faulty at first.

After first service (9000 miles), it will not start after sitting for around 24 hours or more. Just turns over again and again. Local dealership have had a few attempts at repairing, with no improvement. Apart from poor starting reliability, it's fine.

General Comments:

Not as fast as I expected, but handles great. Eats tyres, changed front after 8000 miles.

What could one expect from a 1.8 liter engine? 195hp is outstanding, considering it's a naturally aspirated engine.

I have the 2001 RSX or in Ireland the Integra Type R, it is a 2.0 with 220bhp and it is astounding, nicest car I have ever seen. Miles better than the WRX scooby, rarer and better looking.
