1995 Hyundai Accent LSi 1.3

Summary:

Reliable nippy runaround

Faults:

Shortly after delivery of the car the boot lock needed replacing.

General Comments:

The car was basically bulletproof. Nothing broke down or failed apart from the boot lock.

Servicing from dealer was expensive, so the money I saved in petrol (37mpg against 32mpg on my old car) went towards higher than expected service charges (£130 rather than £85 on my old car).

The car was smooth and easy to drive and quite peppy.

Seats were too soft, but plenty of room for its size.

For the cam belt change service I took the car to an ex-hyundai dealer who charged £100 less that the main dealer for the service.

Only changed it because I needed a bigger car.

1995 Hyundai Accent LSi 1.3

Summary:

Unbeatable at the price

Faults:

Boot lock failed.

Drivers visor wouldn't fold back.

General Comments:

I get 35-44mpg and great performance from the 1.3 12v engine. Always starts on the first turn of the key, the car is ultra reliable

Good sized boot and spacious inside if a little narrower inside than some rivals. Been officially booked at 104mph by the Police so it shows you can have good economy with performance. Well built, almost bulletproof.

1995 Hyundai Accent Si Coupe 1.3i petrol

Faults:

Water ingress into boot.

General Comments:

Great dealers.

Handling leaves a bit to be desired, but as a cheap and cheerful runabout, fits the bill perfectly.

1995 Hyundai Accent GS 1.3 petrol

Faults:

Tracking on front wheel is difficult to get right.

Small things include;

a) Sun visors

b) Drivers window cable

General Comments:

Very pleased with reliability. I have over 112,000 miles up and it has never broken down. They need to get the tracking right.
