1996 Mazda 323 Excutive 1.8i

Summary:

Way better than the average car

Faults:

Nothing ever went wrong with this car, until an old man in a Merc pulled out in front of me on a fast road. I hit his car at 60 mph and the strong construction, excellent airbags, seats and ABS allowed me to walk away unhurt. I bought another 323 as a result.

General Comments:

This car is a good all-rounder.

It is reliable.

It handles like a sports car.

It will protect you in a crash.

The interior is uninspiring and you need to use a lot of fan to get adequate ventilation.

1996 Mazda 323 GXi 1.5 DOHC 16v

Summary:

A sexy reliable sporty head turner. A great pulling machine!

Faults:

Having only had the car a few weeks I can't really comment. The only thing that I have a slight problem with is the central locking takes a bit of time to catch up with the key turn! Apart from that absolutely nothing.

General Comments:

This car is one of the best handling cars I have driven. It hugs the road yet this does not compromise the comfort. Usually cars that are goods in corners are very bumpy once you get them on to a English road!

The engine is nippy, but does lack a bit of power in the lower revs. Once over 3000rpm though you are away. A power boost valve would probably sort that out though.

The interior is comfortable and kitted out! When cruising its very quiet as well.

Adding alloy wheels and a SMALL spoiler (can't stand people who put huge wings on the back of cars) really makes the car looks sexy and sporty.

The 323 is also the easiest car I have driven. It is very relaxing, good performance and you know it looks good on the road. I am very happy with the way this car feels around me. Responsive, safe and good looking!

Yeah its a good car.

1996 Mazda 323 'Figaro' 1.5i

Summary:

A stunning looking car with great performance and handling

Faults:

Nothing.

General Comments:

The shape is lovely to look at, much better then the new replacement model (which I think is ugly).

For a 1.5 litre engine the car is very quick and has great pickup. It is pretty economical too, if you don't drive it too hard.

Good to drive on the motorway, but does suffer from wind noise through the frame-less windows.

Comfortable driving position, although seats sometimes feel a bit too soft.

I love the handling of the car, its almost sports like and the power steering is not too light.

This car was very well specified, with Alloys, Electric Windows, Sunroof, Power Steering, Remote Central Locking, Sony CD Player, Immobiliser, Electric Mirrors, Alarm and Immobiliser.

What I don't like about the car is that rear visibility is slightly restricted because of its shape (but you get used to it) and the paintwork chips/scratches VERY easily.

1996 Mazda 323 GXi 1.5

Summary:

Unique and enjoyable

Faults:

As yet no problems at all, one reason that I bought the car was that it was rated as highly reliable with unique looks.

General Comments:

I bought this car also because my wife liked the sporty style and the kids could go in the back. I fitted a set of alloys and low profile tires which really set it off. Only minor complaints are reduced rear vision and the 1500 lacks a little bit of power (I could not afford the V6, 2000cc). I would buy another, but it has been replaced with a new body shape and lost its looks.

1996 Mazda 323 F GXi 1.5

Summary:

Total quality Mazda!

Faults:

Absolutely nothing!

General Comments:

In comparison with my previous Astra... it's like comparing Chalk & Cheese....... NO CONTEST!!!

British manufacturers should use the Japanese quality as a model for their own!!

Very quiet, great power through the middle gears... feels much quicker than a 1.5......

Build quality is excellent... best buy I've made!!

The problem with having a good MPG rating is that you would loose out on the performance. Personally for the slight drop in MPG I prefer the performance it gives. I have a 1997 323 GXI 16v.
