1996 Mitsubishi Delica Chamonix 2.8 turbo Doesel

Summary:

Best MPV available

Faults:

No faults have become apparent.

Bit too tall for most car parks at 2.07 metres (6'11"?) High, but there are always other places to park.

Mpg is not great at 22-25 but hey it is a 2.8 Turbo diesel and weighs 2 tonnes.

General Comments:

What a great MPV.

After 5000 Miles still raises a smile just with the sheer enjoyment of driving what has to be the most comfortable car I have ever owned.

Proper 4wd box has been great as I drive on Sand occasionally.

Internal equipment and comfort is excellent.

Yep, Had same problem, turned out to be a bypass valve on the turbo sticking open- the effect it has is to make the engine a non turbo and kill the power levels. If you get a decent mechanic to clean this waste gate valve, the valve will work again and the van will be transformed. Hope this helps.

Just clamp up the waste gate and your problems should disapear just make sure that you don't floor the pedal too long, I'm from manila too you can text me at 09198473801 if you have anymore questions.

1993 Mitsubishi Delica Super Exceed 2.5 turbo diesel

Summary:

Love it to bits. I won't part with it until I get a newer one

Faults:

Alternator stopped charging. It was the original from new so not bad. Repaired cheaply and all is well now. Good as new.

General Comments:

This 4x4 is the best vehicle I have ever had. I love it to bits. Its fun to drive and can cross rivers and go through mud and rough terrain. Its also a great passanger vehicle as it has plenty of room inside for all the family. It has air conditioning also a hot and cold box. Handy for those picnics or for those winter nights.

1996 Mitsubishi Delica Exceed 2.8td

Summary:

A great all rounder, with serious practicality

Faults:

Nothing has faltered with the car at all!

General Comments:

This car has been absolutely faultless. I can only sing it's praises. As a family we have travelled to France on a camping trip, and it went without fault returning about 30mpg. Already we have planned next year's trip, and are also planning to use a side awning for camping because of the vehicles diversity as a camper. In my opinion, an excellent car, and already friends of mine are investing in one. One of the most practical mpv's with 4x4 practicality.

I have had one of these cars over a year now. I have been driving over 15 years and have had many cars and vans. It's an M reg that cost me just under £4000, and I have had no problems. It's one of the best cars I have bought.

Cozza.

1988 Mitsubishi Delica Stagwagon L300 4x4 2.5 turbo diesel

Summary:

Tip top mad fun surf wagon

Faults:

Alternator just expired, but was refurbished quite cheaply. It was the 16 year old original though!

General Comments:

This is a mad impulse buy of a car that is 2 meters tall and magenta pink in colour, so it gets noticed.

Surprised how good it is for such an old bus. High spec, comfy, spacious and good performance for its size.

4x4 invaluable this winter on the frozen snowy lanes and ideal for summer picnics and camping.

Would like to get a newer one at some point when I can afford it.

1992 Mitsubishi Delica L300 Super Exceed 2.5 turbo diesel

Summary:

Excellent

Faults:

Diesel pump leak - but fixed cheaply by local diesel specialist.

Battery replaced at 66,000 miles.

Cam belt & Balance belt replaced at 66,000 miles.

Air Con re-gassed at 80,000 miles.

General Comments:

The very best way to travel if you need a rugged, dependable 4x4 that's comfortable with plenty of space.

I have done 40,000 miles in mine, and apart from the fuel leak from the diesel pump - nothing else has broken.

Need to change the oil and filter every 4000 miles though!! Don't forget - really does make a difference.

I live in New Zealand, and have a Japanese import (similar to yours I think - a 1991 2.5 diesel 4WD). I had the same leaking diesel pump problem, although it was perhaps more severe and sudden, diesel just suddenly flooded out onto the road, and the van ground to a halt. The fuel pump needed replacing with an expensive second-hand one. Someone said it might have failed due to an overtightened cambelt though I am not sure.

I own a 1992 Delica Super Exceed.

1 of the 6 clutches shattered in the auto gearbox, very expensive. Got that fixed because I just love my truck to pieces, it's my second home, sleep in it, eat in it.

I've jacked it up, got really meaty shocks, looking to get deep dish alloy wheels next. I'll still be driving the same truck in 10 years time, & that's because it's "WICKED"

I owned a '93 L300. Great vehicle, but way too costly to run, 'speshly with fuel prices going up in 2007/8. 20 mpg is ridiculous. Luckily mine got pranged by a hit & run driver, and was declared an economic write off, so I took the insurance cheque and bought myself a much more economic vehicle which runs on LPG, around half the price of petrol.

2004 Mitsubishi Delica Exceed 2.8L turbo diesel

Summary:

It is taller than the tallest tree!!!

Faults:

Nothing major, just regular service parts; ex: brake pads.

General Comments:

It crosses / fords rivers with ease, climbs any mountain, and is taller than the tallest tree! It's one big mean green machine!

Plus there is a great owners club on the web (UK-based) mdocuk.co.uk. Check it out!

1995 Mitsubishi Delica L400 Exceed 2.8 turbo diesel

Summary:

A great all round performer

Faults:

So far the only problem is the electric curtains have stopped working.

General Comments:

This car is a real head turner. It is very roomy and comfortable. The seats can be laid down into a bed and I have camped in it a couple of times.
