2004 Mitsubishi Grandis Equippe 2.4

Summary:

Big on the inside, without the large exterior

Faults:

None to date.

General Comments:

The 2.4 engine is very powerful and responsive.

Very comfortable on long and short journeys.

Very spacious, even with all the seats up.

The fuel economy is not the best, but still get 32mpg on runs.

Around town 24mpg.

Thanks for the review. I am currently looking at various MPVs for our family (4 kids). I had shortlisted the Zafira over the Avensis Verso, because I was put off by the high costs of Toyota MPVs. That said, I have always wanted a Japanese model for the reliability.

Looks like the Grandis used could be the answer. How does your Grandis compare with your previous car, the Zafira? I would be very interested to hear a comparison. The car will be mainly driven by my wife, so if you have a woman's perspective, this would be ideal.

Thanks.

Take Grandis. I've seen some ladies driving it with children at the back with a smile. Well, Zafira, it does match the look, but so far, I mean in my country. I haven't seen any on the road, and I believe there must be some reasons why they are so rarely seen compared to the Grandis.

2004 Mitsubishi Grandis Elegance 2.4 petrol MIVEC

Summary:

The Space Wagon it replaces was a seriously better car!

Faults:

Almost new, yet the hard, cheap looking plastic dash rattled like a 15 year old Citroen 2CV.

General Comments:

The new 2.4 petrol MIVEC engine is much noisier and harsher than the GDi it replaces and appears thirstier.

The interior trim is very plain, plastic and cheap looking, with no cloth in sight. The hard style plastic is prone to rattles.

The rear seat set raise and lower very easily and store flush with the floor, so provides lots of luggage space.

The cars a real looker, drawing glances from the public. Don't take your girl friend out in it - your wife will find out! If I had to gripe, the design team maybe lost the plot as they got towards the rear end, but it still looks okay, just not as good as the front.
