2006 SAAB 9-5 Vector Sport 2.0 turbo petrol

Summary:

Appears to be great, but is one of the worst cars I have ever had

Faults:

No faults in the 4 months I have had the car.

It is in excellent condition, and has been well maintained.

Saab have checked the car and say it is in perfect order.

General Comments:

A very rough car indeed.

The car has a lot of good points, but the bad ones seriously affect any possible enjoyment.

The noise in the cabin is so excessive that after an hour on the motorway, I need to get out of the car.

The poor ride and vibration are so bad that after only 4 months I am going to change the car.

I even let a Saab technician sit next to me out for a test drive and point out the noise from the back, even though it is only slightly noisy, normally people won't have hear it. Anyway, the Saab authorized dealer service center fixed the problem, and it has nothing to do with Saab, it's the audio system installer fault. Not tight enough. Check the tire specs, tire pressure and shock absorbers. More than that, a Saab technician is needed.

This noise problem is probably due to the tyres, and not the car...

I has similar issue with noise from the back of my SAAB 9-5. Turned out there was a flat spot on the back tyres. Once I changed the tyres, the noise left. Previous owner had fitted tyres that were not rated for the weight of a SAAB.

I has similar problem with noise from my 9-5. As with the previous comment, it turned out to be a flat spot on the back tyres, underrated tyres again.

Summary:

Lovely car in every way

Faults:

Nothing at all.

General Comments:

I bought this car as I wanted something individual, stylish, comfortable and economical. It certainly ticks all those boxes!

The car is very well made, the handling for a big car is very good, without this spoiling the excellent ride and quite cabin noise.

Stereo easy to use, sounds great. Standard features such as cruise control, dual zone climate are very useful and all I really use.

Gearbox is automatic, and very smooth adding to the ease of use of the vehicle. Size isn't a problem due to rear parking aid.

Economy is excellent, and the performance is impressive. The torque of the engine is strong, and the engine is very refined and smooth for a diesel!

I enjoy the drive, and not feeling like copy cat choosing this over the much more expensive (yet only slightly nicer to drive) competitors!

I would recommend this car and any other Saab to anyone! especially my excellent dealer bell and colvill in west horsley who exceed my expectations every time with efficient and friendly staff.
