2018 Vauxhall Insignia SRi Nav GS 1.5T petrol

Summary:

Bloody love it!

Faults:

Usual wear and tear plus servicing. Climate control developed a fault, would only blow cold, had to put it into a mechanic to repair, wasn't too expensive though.

General Comments:

New shape Insignia "Grand Sport" 2018 model, sharp looking car in grey. Diamond cut alloy wheels, looks very nice.

SRi Nav model is well equipped, interior is comfortable and has all the modern features you would expect. Seats are among the best I have sat in. Rear headroom a little limited for taller passengers, otherwise no complaints.

1.5 turbo petrol engine is fast enough, plus you will get around 40 mpg, which is good for petrol in a big heavy car. Can drop to 30 - something in winter/shorter drives, so if you want more mpg, go for a diesel. But it is a very quiet and smooth simple engine.

Good to drive. Cheap to buy used. Just a great all round car. Reliability has been better than my old 2010 Insignia. Hope to keep this one a long time.

2018 Vauxhall Insignia GS SRi VxLine 1.5T petrol

Summary:

Very nice car

Faults:

Really nothing at all serious.

General Comments:

The modern Insignia is a smooth comfortable and great looking and performing car in SRi VxLine trim with a petrol engine.

After poor experiences with diesels in the past, I opted for the 1.5 turbo petrol. Sounds under-powered for a car this size at first, but feels like a 2.0, pulls strong enough. 45 mpg or more is also still possible.

Rear passenger headroom is a little limited, otherwise the car's comfort levels are perfect.

The perfect family/executive car, just hope it stays reliable, and I will continue to look after it well.

I think you did well, the 1.6 isn't much faster, and does around 30 mpg, so give yourself a pat on the back. Drain oil every 10k, give it a minutes idle down when coming off the motorway or after a hard drive.

He must be doing plenty of motorway cruising to get 45 mpg, my 1.5 petrol has never gotten more than 39 mpg.

2018 Vauxhall Insignia Grand Sport SRi Vx Line 1.5 petrol

Summary:

Excellent!

Faults:

Nothing at all.

General Comments:

Dark blue, window tints, and 5 spoke 18 inch alloy wheels, this car looks amazing. Vx Line SRi styling is the one to go for on these newer Insignia Grand Sports.

Interior is also very nice and a huge improvement over the previous model Insignia. The car looks and feels as premium as any German car.

1.5 petrol engine is OK, but the diesels might be a better choice for more power and economy. This car is only just about fast enough for me, and does 45 - 48 mpg, not bad I suppose. Very smooth and quiet however.

The car is just great to drive and cruise in on the motorway. I have made a few very long journeys in it over the last couple of years and always get out the car feeling great; the seats are very comfortable. Rear headroom for taller passengers is a bit limited; those fancy lines and roof design might look great, but there is a price to be paid with a bit less space in the rear. Generally however I drive myself these days so the comfort and space upfront is OK.

The car has all the modern features for phone pairing and sat nav, plus a few fancy modes to flick through. I'm old school and don't really care about these features to be honest, but they are all there for those that do. Sound system quality is good and the car has of course electric windows, mirrors, and all the other expected essentials.

Tired of boring crossovers and SUV's and MPV's and just want a traditional family or executive car? Then take a look at the Insignia.
