2017 Volkswagen Scirocco GT 1.4 TSi petrol

Summary:

Excellent so far!

Faults:

Nothing so far other than servicing and new tyres and brake pads.

General Comments:

An exciting fun hatchback/coupe, the Scirocco is a great car. I have had this two years with no issues.

Mine is bright blue, upgraded alloy wheels, looks fantastic. Interior is also very nice and comfortable. Large amounts of space, great sporty seats. Good vision all round.

The 1.4 petrol engine I was a little unsure of at first as I am used to driving diesels, but it is powerful and can be economical if driven correctly. Much better in every way than my previous dull as hell BMW 1 series that struggled for performance and economy, and it had a larger diesel engine! This 1.4 TSi has been much better so far. I have been told however to watch out for turbo failure - an apparently expensive common fault. So far mine has been OK though.

Other downsides are VW dealers - they are OK with you when in warranty, but as it runs out out they tried to sell you expensive extended service plans. In all honesty this car has a simple engine that can be serviced and repaired at any trusty independent garage. No need to go back to VW as it ages.

Smart, modern, good looking and fun to drive, I hope to have this Scirocco a long time!

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes
