2011 BMW 7 Series 750i xDrive 4.4 V8 biturbo N63 from Sweden

Summary:

It's the perfect car. Fantastic!

Faults:

Excessive oil consumption. This is due to worn valve guide seals, allowing oil to leak into the combustion chamber.

Injector failures.

High-pressure fuel pumps (HPFPs) are prone to failure, resulting in a sudden loss of power and causing the engine to go into limp mode.

The wiring and crankshaft or camshaft position sensors can fail due to the extreme heat generated by the V8 engine.

General Comments:

Driving this car is truly a dream.

You barely feel a thing when you're on the highway at over 150 km/h, which is where I particularly enjoy driving it. The acceleration is powerful, and it's excellent for overtaking.

The twin-turbo engine is captivating, both for its sound and its power, but it's prone to oil leaks, so it requires an impeccable service history. With rigorous maintenance, the car runs like a dream.

The 4.4-liter V8 engine delivers 400 horsepower, and the all-wheel drive (xDrive) provides excellent grip in various weather conditions. It does consume a fair amount of fuel, though, averaging just over 11 liters per 100 kilometers. If you like to put your foot down, fuel consumption will obviously increase, and this car certainly encourages you to do so.

As for interior comfort, as expected from BMW, it's superb. It stands out for its top-of-the-line cabin, spacious seats, and luxurious amenities, ideal for long journeys, although the steering feel can sometimes feel artificial or too light.

Maintenance is the most critical aspect of the car. The N63 engine requires rigorous maintenance, and annual repair costs can easily exceed the average for its class due to common problems such as turbocharger wear or failures in the electrical and cooling systems.

I can't say it's a cheap car, but if you take good care of it, it's as reliable as an old-school model. It's worth the price; driving it is a truly enjoyable experience, especially if you use it daily like I do.

It's a car for enthusiasts; anyone who owns one knows what to expect. In my case, it's perfectly maintained, and everything works like it did the day I got it.
