2005 BMW M6 Coupe 5.0 V10 from UK and Ireland

Summary:

Motoring perfection

Faults:

Tracking needed doing.

Tyres needed replacing.

Wheels need refurbishing.

General Comments:

Stunning in every way. A serious performance car that will demolish almost anything on the road today. Blisteringly fast.

Fuel economy poor, but brings a smile every time you drive it. Astonishing, addictive and a total babe magnet.

Summer of 2010, a friend of mine stops in front of my driveway (I'm out enjoying a day off) and he is test driving this beauty (2006) that is for sale. He is used to powerful cars so I trusted him and I'll skip the details. Too many settings to remember but one: no electricity but for the motor and trans... We went for a 10 mile round trip (I live on country road) and in no time I was back in my driveway again ;gasping. As you mentioned, I think it can demolish just about anything on the road (few, very few exceptions!) Shifting was through paddles on the steering, clunk after clunk I was glued to the seat... blazing fast!!! Still the ride of my life!!!

2007 BMW M6 5.0 V10 from North America

Summary:

The car has a drinking problem, but it's worth it!

Faults:

The battery died (BMW charged $492). I hadn't driven the car in 10 days (poor weather so I drove my RAV4). Dealer said I must have left the Comfort Access key in the car, which prevented the car from "going to sleep". There is no way that happened because (as the manual points out), it is impossible to lock the keys in the car. He also said I didn't drive it enough, though I said my driving habits (distance to work) had not changed in the 2 years I have owned the car, so why all of a sudden did the battery die?

I have found that with BMW dealerships, if they can avoid paying for anything, they will.

General Comments:

I love the car, and it's amazing to drive.

Acceleration is incredible.

The dealerships are cheap (the items at BMW cost a third of the price elsewhere. The battery for the key is $20 at BMW and the same battery at Best Buy is $6.99).
