1984 Ford Fiesta Popular Plus 1.1 OHV from UK and Ireland

Summary:

An ideal first car

Faults:

Master cylinder and brake servo stopped working.

Hand brake cable snapped.

Needed a new sump nut.

New head gasket and valve seals.

New exhaust.

General Comments:

Disgusting colour "Champagne gold", horrible brown interior.

Never broke down on me really at all.

Engine very easy to work on.

Very economical £5 petrol @ 72.9p gets 45-50 miles.

Can't get very big subs in the boot.

Very, very easy to get broken into without damaging anything at all.

Cheap insurance.

Good old Mk2 Fiesta.

Loved champagne gold. My first Fiesta was that colour.

1984 Ford Fiesta XR2 1.6 CVH carb from UK and Ireland

Summary:

Underestimated hothatch of the 80's

Faults:

Arches rusted where bodykit was attached.

Serious cooling problem.

Nearside front damper collapsed.

Boot floor rusted out.

General Comments:

Despite the problems above it's a very good sporty car. Its lowered sport suspension makes you feel it's going a lot faster than you think.

A very good car for the price asked. Its only flaw is its group 13 insurance.
