2016 Ford Mondeo Titanium 2.0 TDCi from UK and Ireland

Summary:

OK, but avoid high mileage cars

Faults:

Clutch, turbo, oil leak, exhaust, DPF.

General Comments:

Got a really good deal on this Mondeo due to its high mileage. It had full service history and MOT at a nice price. Drove great on the test drive. So that's why I bought it.

Highly likely it was a taxi in its early years. These cars take high mileage well, but obviously you have to expect some expensive repairs at some point. I don't regret my purchase, but it has been expensive to put right.

Interior has held up well, some wear here and there, but pretty solid for an 8 year old car with 180K on it. Titanium model is very comfortable with lots of equipment.

Looks good in black metallic on the exterior. Lots of stone chips on the front bumper and bonnet due to miles and miles of motorway travel.

The car is nice to drive, punchy engine and still does 50 mpg + on diesel.

Time will tell if it lasts, feels very modern, but it should, it is only a 2016 car, not exactly ancient, but I am just being realistic about the mileage. If I get a couple more years from it I will be happy. Tax and insurance are cheap and it is economical, plus I got it really cheap to begin with, so now going forwards it is about avoiding expensive bills. I've serviced it and it's had all required belt changes so fingers crossed it will last; I do like this car despite its roughness.

2016 Ford Mondeo ECOnetic Titanium 1.5 TDCi from UK and Ireland

Summary:

Good to drive and economical

Faults:

Nothing major yet. Touch screen a little hesitant sometimes.

General Comments:

A really great looking car and wonderful to drive.

1.5 TDCi is not fast, but with 60 mpg + cheap tax and insurance, who is complaining?

Very comfortable seats, Titanium model is the one to have. Excellent on long journeys.

The car handles like a dream for a run of the mill car.

Excellent motorway cruiser.

Residual values are strong for the Mondeo. So that means not many deals on the used market, but buy a good one and keep it in good condition and it will hold its value better than rival cars in the same class.

2016 Ford Mondeo Titanium 1.5 TDCI from UK and Ireland

Summary:

Brilliant car

Faults:

Tyre pressure sensor.

General Comments:

Love this car, it's big and comfortable, all the extras included, very smooth gearbox and quite fast for a 1.5 litre engine.

Averages 60mpg, never tired after a long journey, so far a tyre pressure sensor malfunctioned and that's it.

It's a shame that they are not made any more by Ford, as they are a super car, and the newest model looks like a Aston Martin from the front. Really nice looking car.

Space inside is great and the boot is enormous. Who needs an SUV??? Hoping to have many joyful years with this car, Euro 6 and tax free, so no costs driving in the ULEZ zones.

They are nice cars, look after them and they should not give too much trouble. My friend has a diesel 2015 Mondeo as a taxi with 170,000 miles on it still going strong!

2016 Ford Mondeo ST-Line Estate 2.0 TDCi from UK and Ireland

Summary:

Very nice!

Faults:

Basically nothing in the year and a half I have been driving it.

General Comments:

It is hard to get excited about a family estate car, but this Mondeo has surprised me in every way. Great to look at, nice to drive, whilst still being economical.

ST-Line is a great trim level. Electronic everything and sporty styling and seats. Love the black/grey look interior with red stitching. Lots of space inside.

Black metallic paintwork on the outside, powder grey alloy wheels, rear window tint, really looks great.

2.0 TDCI has a nice balance of power and economy. I have no problem overtaking anything, while getting a genuine 55 - 60 mpg. The car feels a little softer than the old Mondeo but is still very sharp in the handling department compared to rivals in this class.

So to finish, if you want a reliable family estate car but still want to enjoy driving, check out the ST-Line Mondeo.
