Pretty good

Faults:

Nothing yet.

General Comments:

So far so good.

It's probably too soon for a good review about reliability, but I can tell you I am liking this truck so far.

I wasn't expecting a lot, but I m impressed all the time.

I had an opportunity to get a new vehicle in a relatively low price range. For me, it had to be a pick up, it had to be four wheel drive, and it HAD to be AMERICAN, though I'm sure it's mostly foreign parts (what isn't these days?).

So my choices were Ford Ranger, Dodge Dakota or this.

Ford was my first choice, but you can no longer get a regular cab Ranger in 4x4, and I didn't want crew cab so that was out. The Dakota is also not available with a regular cab, so the choice was clear.

I had seen the Canyon in white and didn't like it, but the black or charcoal or whatever they call it, is pretty sharp looking. I wanted a manual transmission, but settled for the auto when I found the left over 08 in a good color and regular cab (the only regular cab on the lot). It is my first four cylinder, and I'm used to V8s so I wasn't expecting a ball of fire. It's not a Viper, but it's got some pep. Handles pretty nice and the four wheel drive is great.

I loaded a half a cord of wood on it (way more than the GVW), but it handled it fair, better than I thought; a little scary steering it, but plenty of power.

No stake pockets on the bed, but I guess that's OK, it will remind me not to overload it too much.

The tailgate latch is plastic and feels a little cheesy. I have my doubts about that lasting very long.

I think as long as I treat it like what it is, and not one of my big trucks, it will be OK.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes
