I own two VP SS Commodores, and I agree they are a fantastic motor vehicle.

1992 Holden Commodore berlina LX 5 litre V8 from Australia and New Zealand

Summary:

The best car I've ever owned and driven!

Faults:

Drivers side door deadlock stopped working, could not deadlock at all.

Water leaked into the boot, had to reseal both taillight lenses to fix it.

Original exhaust system broke after 10 years, replaced with a sports exhaust.

Radiator recored as it was 50% blocked, and car would overheat.

General Comments:

The comfort and power from the v8 is really nice!

It tows our caravan and boat quite easily, but does like to drink a fair bit of fuel when towing.

Will keep this car until it falls apart, but at the moment it's in excellent condition and should last a few more years!

1992 Holden Commodore executive series 2 3.8 fuel injected from Australia and New Zealand

Summary:

Bang for your bucks

Faults:

Air Conditioner had to be replaced, faulty switch for A/C.

Front shock absorber's were pretty standard when new, so were replaced with tightened springs and stiffer shocks.

General Comments:

A quick machine, plenty of torque and grunt.

Smooth ride.

Highway driving is a breeze, with swift kickback when overtaking.

Seriously this car has acceleration to rival some sports cars and blows most standard 6 cylinders away.

Recommended buy.

Not so much a comment but a question, if any one can help. I own a '93 VP SS, travelled 88000klm and my odometer is running over twice the speed. How do I rectify this?

The speedo drive is an electronic pulse from the gearbox, rather than a mechanical cable. If you go to a transmission workshop, or a speedo/instrument shop, they should be able to diagnose this.
