Summary:

Built to be loved and loves to be thrashed

Faults:

Rust in the front floor-pan.

Minor rust around the rear window.

Steering coupling broke.

Clutch needed replacing (caused by a nut behind the wheel).

General Comments:

Fantastic power/weight ratio.

Visibility not as good as later models.

Very cheap and easy to do up. Noticeable improvements when some newer technologies are applied (e.g electronic ignition).

Not comfortable for long drives, best suited to 1/4 mile bursts.
