1999 Honda Legend from Australia and New Zealand

Summary:

Very good value, if only for the oldies

Faults:

Nothing.

General Comments:

Given slightly stodgy styling, this is a lovely to own car, as was my last one, at a seriously cheap price on the used market. It's as well built as several much more expensive Europeans (Mercedes-Benz & BMW) I have owned in the past, for much less cost.

Seriously high recommendation for this car on every measure, unless you demand upbeat 21st century styling, in which case, get an Aurion.

1999 Honda Legend 3.5 Litre from Australia and New Zealand

Summary:

Top class comfort

Faults:

Nothing.

General Comments:

This car is as good as the other review for the 99 Legend. I was after a good second hand business vehicle and this fits the bill.

It is 5 years old with only 56k kms. It has been well kept and drives like a new car.

The petrol consumption is no different to my Ford Fairmont.

It is very comfortable and a pleasure to drive.

I have not had it long however it is everything I had hoped it would be.

I have had this car for 3 years now and it is up to 127,000 kms. It has performed fantastically. I had to get the front disk drums machined, which did not cost much, and a new set of tyres, but that's it. The fuel economy is 11.5 l/100kms.

I am going to get a Skoda Octavia RS Wagon TDi for work and hand this to my wife. They are great cars.

1999 Honda Legend 3.5 from UK and Ireland

Summary:

Very comfortable

Faults:

The rear brake pads have been replaced, which I was expecting to do anyway. Nothing else.

General Comments:

A very comfortable car with adequate performance from the 3.5 litre engine which is very smooth and refined.

This car is all about comfort. With electrically adjustable heated leather seats, climate control, cruise control and electric windows/sunroof, it wants for nothing.

If you are looking for economy, then buy something else as the petrol costs are very high (I estimate approximately 20mpg). Similarly, if you are looking for a sporting feel to the car, you would be better buying a BMW as the handling is not the greatest. But, if you are looking for a very comfortable saloon that feels special every time you get behind the steering wheel, then the Legend fits the bill. When you compare it with a similarly aged Mercedes, it is a bargain.
