2004 Lexus GS 300 from North America

Summary:

I love it

Faults:

Nothing so far.

General Comments:

It runs so smoothly and quietly I'm not sure the engine is on.

It takes the curves effortlessly.

It's very easy to execute U-turns.

2004 Lexus GS 300 3.0 from Australia and New Zealand

Summary:

Luxurious, trouble free motoring with absolutely brilliant value

Faults:

Nothing yet! Everything works like a charm.

When people cannot fault my GS300, they just make themselves feel good by labelling it a Toyota. Getting sick of that. Lexus is a separate financial division in its own right with its own Research & Development. Besides, what’s wrong with a Toyota?

General Comments:

This is an extremely fast car, from start to stop.

Nice handling except for a condition (Tramming) where the wheels seems to follow the grooves of the road a bit, causing the steering wheel to wander. GS300 loves the M4, M5 and hates Parramatta Road.

I've driven an E240 and a BMW 7 series. The GS300 seems to get from A to B much smoother, quicker, silently, and at half the cost of European offerings. Clearly it must be their relentless pursuit of perfection.

I agree with the tramming effect, but apart from that, it has a great value engine, which is as smooth as; so much so you can't even hear or feel it.

Excellent stereo system and comfortable driving position with easy to use navigation system.
