2005 Mitsubishi L200 Double Crew Cab 2.5 from UK and Ireland

Summary:

Love it

Faults:

I have to say, I absolutely love this jeep! We have done some mileage in it, in the 2 years we have had it.

We did get a hole in a radiator pipe, and now, the crank shaft pulley is gone, and we've been waiting for this part for nearly 2 weeks now. But my friend has a Land Rover, that since she has bought it, it's been in the mechanics for longer than it's been at her house. Also, a friend of mine has a Golf, that's been nothing but hassle.

I've looked around at other jeeps, after reading these threads, but haven't found any that don't have a problem. They all have something that goes wrong. I just don't want anyone not to buy an L200 because of reading other people's problems, and missing out on a great jeep. We pulled a car up a hill in the ice and snow last year with it. Well my husband did; I got out for safety.

General Comments:

All in all, great jeep for us.

2005 Mitsubishi L200 Strada 2.5 turbo diesel from Indonesia

Summary:

Superb

Faults:

The powered windows wasn't very friendly in the first 6 months. The window glass (driver's side) slipped off its rail several times, and the whole thing was jammed. The dealer fixed it quite well (except when they ripped my window tints!). The other ones were sort of lazy to make their way up and down. A treatment of silicone spray on the sills every now and then had been a great help to solve the problem.

The fan belt slipped out its place when I tried to reach a speed of 160 km/h. I fixed it myself with no troubles.

The starter motor was getting weak during the second year. The engine couldn't get cranked instantly, but with a lag of 1-2 seconds after ignition. The dealer overhauled the starter motor. Nothing was fixed or replaced. Apparently the car's battery was then accused of being the source of the problem. I replaced the old battery with a new one, and the starter motor has been behaving nicely till now.

The front seats are starting to make loud squeaking noises. Its irritating and distracts your driving concentration. Grease their joints would help to reduce the noises.

General Comments:

Great buddy on rough terrain. Handling is superb. Engine performance is great. Power is magnificent. Utility is very handy.

Unfortunately the seats are uncomfortable.
