2015 Nissan Micra SV from North America

Summary:

You *can* say cheap and good in the same sentence!

Faults:

The check engine light came on 3 times within the first 6 months. All were insignificant code errors which were reset at the dealer, and no issues in the 6 months since.

General Comments:

Awesome little car with amazing fuel economy. A little noisy on the highway because it's low to the ground, but still has the guts to climb hills without other cars pulling out to pass.

Our SV model is nicely equipped with AC, power windows/locks/mirrors, keyless entry remote, and mirror defroster (GREAT in Canadian winters!).

Around town it's a dream. Easy to park, and with a 20km daily roundtrip to work, at $1.25/L this car burns $10 per week. Seriously.

We previously owned a Honda Civic hatchback for 12 years, but an equally-equipped Fit was almost $8K more. The Micra was a no-brainer. The cheapest new car on the road in Canada is also its best bang for the buck (or Loonie!).

The car has actually quite a few problems, even with low miles. It is inexpensive, but also made with quite cheap parts. Don't expect this to last 100K miles without several repairs. See the forums first. It seems there are also problems with engine rods and head gaskets:

2015 Nissan Micra S 1.6 gasoline from North America

Summary:

When cheap meets good

Faults:

So far so good.

General Comments:

The best mini car on a market if you just need basic transportation.

Very roomy. Great stability in cornering. Great visibility. I am 6' 4" and I have tons of headroom left.

Slow depreciation due to a very low price.

Look for a deal price of $10000. It's a bargain.

It's just too much fun to drive this car.

There is an airbag recall. It seems the airbag may deploy when the doors are slammed:
