2015 Nissan Pulsar Acenta 1.2 DIG-T from Norway

Summary:

Surprisingly good

Faults:

Changed wet belt and water pump.

Various parts in the cooling system, just to be sure - preventive maintenance.

Replaced front brakes and rotors.

Removed rust under and sprayed with anti rust fluid.

General Comments:

Not many know about this car. But it's surprisingly comfortable and quiet for its class. Space is good, even for a small family. However, it's a bit basic inside and by no means a luxury vehicle.

The drive train has its issues. Probably steer away from the automatic, the so called Xtronic CVT. These have various issues. The DIG-T engine also has its issues and you really need to be on top maintenance here, especially oil changes, always use quality oil, right type and change every 10K kilometers. Then you will stay clear of the usual problems here, including wet belt problems.

2015 Nissan Pulsar DIG-T Visia 1.2 petrol from UK and Ireland

Summary:

Fun to drive

Faults:

Be aware of weak timing chains on these cars - used dealer was very good however and replaced mine under warranty after I took it back after thinking it sounded noisy.

The car has otherwise been excellent, just the basic wear and tear expected of mileage.

General Comments:

A great little car that reminds me of the older 1990s Pulsar, although a very different car.

Despite the smaller engine, the car is quite nippy and fun to drive.

Good to cruise in also, long journeys are OK; the car is comfortable and refined.

My car is dark blue with grey 16 inch alloy wheels, looks very smart and modern.

High oil consumption is also an issue on these Dig-T engines to look out for.
