1985 Peugeot 305 Automatic 1.6 from UK and Ireland

Summary:

Very comfortable, well built, well cared for motor car

Faults:

New automatic box.

New cambelt.

New battery.

Lots of new tyres.

General Comments:

Car is virtually rust free, 2 areas only require attention. This is very unusual for this model.

Seats very comfortable and roomy, although the driver's seat cover needs repairing.

Rest of interior is like new.

Wheel caps are very good, though steel wheels would benefit from restoration.

A good set of 1985 305 GTX alloy wheels would be perfect.

Summary:

You get lot for your money

Faults:

Dead battery.

Rear right trailing arm broke.

Electric window on the left doesn't work.

Front door pillars started to rust badly.

Rust on the rear passenger floor.

General Comments:

Comfortable interior.

Fuel consumption bad, due to automatic choke perhaps?

Power steering is nice in town.

This model has a bad reputation in Finland as with all French cars, because of rust problems and the need of special tools.

Rear trailing arms seems to be a weak point, always check these for rust!

Engine pulls strong from low revs.
