2001 Pontiac Bonneville SSEi supercharged 3.8 liter from North America

Summary:

Great car, crappy steering

Faults:

The steering is bad, let me say again, bad. We have had the rack replaced 3 times and are ready to go for number 4. GM is stonewalling bigtime as to be expected. I have done some research on this and I am not the only one with this problem. Other than this some minor trim issues not really even worth mentioning. My wife and I really love the car, its just the pesky steering noise every 5 thousand miles... keep you posted... can you say lemon law??

General Comments:

Great car... GM needs to step up and fix the steering issue or compensate us guys that dropped 30k +

I agree with your comments. GM should step up to the plate and do the right thing. I have a steering issue with a 2001 SE. At a very low speed, a slight knocking noise is coming form the steering column area. According to the local dealer, the left front wheel is to be removed, the steering shaft removed and lubricated. Their statement about this issue implies this is part of standard maintenance. Nowhere in the owners manual is this stated. The service dept also implies that GM backs there comments.

As for the car, I really like the car and so does my wife. As for a repeat buy again, its according to how the service people treat me. Good luck in your endeavor.

2001 Pontiac Bonneville SSEi turbo from North America

Summary:

This is a bad car

Faults:

At 72 miles a hole in the crank case caused all of the oil to leak out. The panels in the trunk had to be replaced because they kept falling off. The steering makes a loud moaning noise and it has been into the shop 4 times for repair. It still has not been repaired. The right side power mirror stopped working. The plastic inside the fire wall on the front ride side fell off. The front driver door and rear driver side door do not line up properly. Finally, the plastic cover to the stereo fell off.

General Comments:

The car is very quick and comfortable to drive.

I've yet to go a full duration between oil changes without needing something repaired.

2001 Pontiac Bonneville SSEI 3.8 V6 Supercharged from North America

Summary:

Luxury, with attitude

Faults:

Only problem was a sensor in the traction control.

General Comments:

The car is a real pleasure to drive, very roomy inside.

The dash is laid out very nice.

The engine horsepower is strong, but I expected better with the supercharger.

The front seat belts are hard to use if you are tall.

2001 Pontiac Bonneville SLE 3.8 from North America

Summary:

A very sporty and affordable people mover

Faults:

Nothing yet!

General Comments:

Very sporty looking, great handling, very functional.

May not be completely broken in yet, but gas mileage is not on a par with my previous (1995) Bonneville.
