2003 Pontiac Montana from North America

Summary:

The Montana is a perfect family vehicle!

Faults:

None.

General Comments:

In only one year I have put 33000 kilometers on our Montana without any problems.

It is a driver friendly van that handles easily with a smooth ride and easy maneuvering.

Driving position seems to be higher than the Caravan improving visibility and backing up.

The 8 passenger seating can be rearranged to accommodate all imaginable uses for a van. The seats easily flip up, can be removed and replaced by mom. The vehicle is cleaner because you can easily access the floor space.

The DVD entertainment center was something I never thought we needed!

I was wrong. It provides the kids with a diversion during our carpools, keeps them from fighting and provides peace for me when I need it.

The automatic door was included in our package. With teens I find it inconvenient and would have preferred it as an option. It is slow opening and closing. The vehicle has to be in park and the doors unlocked before it opens. Great safety features I'm sure, but somewhat cumbersome in reality. With little kids it might be handy.

Service department was great. No extra buried costs.

Salesman was one of the few I could find that would deal with me without my husband.

2003 Pontiac Montana EXT 3.4 from North America

Summary:

Great comfy ride for families!

Faults:

In the first week, I had a minor issue with interior finish/integrity. It was repaired promptly.

Had to get both front door handles replaced as they were loose. It was also done promptly.

General Comments:

I am pretty satisfied with the vehicle so far. I knew about the intake leak problem before I bought this van. But with the new 5 year/100,000 Km. warranty, it is not a problem as they always leak (if ever) within that period!

I find the engine a bit noisy, but it doesn't bother me. The self-leveling rear suspension is the best thing I ever bought on a vehicle! Especially when loading up the van with 3 kids and all their junk!

The air ride suspension was the greatest thing for us as well, in our 1999 Montana. Replacing the pump when it goes is not a great thing. Check all hoses to make sure they do not get plugged or loosened and clean out the pump once a year. We are on our third pump and it costs 800.00 Canadian to replace. This does not include labor.
