1963 MG B Mk 1 review from Australia and New Zealand

"This is motoring not driving - breath and feel the world go by"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Clutch replaced.

Some rust repairs.

Dull respray.

Speedo odometer stop working.

New muffler.

Starter motor made horrible noises.

General comments?

I bought this car as a project to rebuild and sell. It was advertised in the paper fairly cheaply because of gearbox problems. I replaced the clutch and the gearbox was fine. It had the odd issue here and there, but nothing too annoying.

I then drove the car for 1.5 years. This was a great car to drive; when you wanted to get a way from it all, just put the top down and drive, all your cares just faded. I drove with the top down always, unless it was absolutely pelting down with rain, otherwise just keep driving and hope there are no red lights - the rain tends to catch up with you when you stop.

I then had the car re-sprayed, and sold it for a profit. I now own an MGA, but it's still being rebuilt. I hope it brings me as much fun as the MGB did.
