1990 Honda Concerto JG review from Australia and New Zealand
"Does the job, with a bit of umph!!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Brakes, Discs cut into rotor quickly when first noticed the screeching. I do drive the Rimutaka hill each day to work (google image it) very harsh road for the car.
Stalling on idle, started happening recently, yet to be diagnosed.
Loves to drink oil.
Gear changes are not always smooth, sometimes lunging, forward and accelerating rapidly at 30-40kph.
Engine braking is almost ipmossible, rather than slowing, car will maintain speed and scream!
General comments?
Quick off the line, not the fastest 1.6 I 've been in, but I've smoked a few high powered cars at the lights.
Auto gear changes are great at high speeds, 100kph drop from 4th to 3rd and it's off to 130+kph Makes it great for overtaking.
Sounds good, the loud mufflers make it sound a lot higher powered than it actually is.
Handles smooth, and she's not afraid of going to quick for corners.
