1982 Mitsubishi Sigma SE review from Australia and New Zealand

"Buy a Sigma if you want a thrash car (manual)"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Leaking oil/burning oil.

Ignition wire disconnected itself.

Gearbox clunking (cones + universal joints).

General comments?

Ha ha, this car is an awesome burnout machine; drop the clutch at 4000rpm and blow the rocker covers of the top of the engine if any thing else, grab the hand brake and do a fully sick 180. Sometimes the diff will want to argue and you will get a lot of jumpy tire shaking untill you get some nice baldys , but just play with the revs until you get a smooth spin. Thin 175/75 R14's are the best for easy wheelspin, and when you are flooring it around a tight bend, the inside right will light up - pure class.

1st gear was made for towing as it is an aussie car built for low down torque, so hit second ASAP. Short shifting is key; never take it past 4500rpm as there is nothing there ahaha. If you stick to these golden rules and keep the wheelspin to a minimum off the line, you should be able to beat other pieces of crap that are worse than a Sigma LOL.

I crashed a few weeks ago on a hills run trying to get loose on a tight corner, but the body roll snapped me back into the barrier causing left side and frond damage. Here's the best bit, $50 and 3 hours later you have an attractive ziptied ghetto machine that no one will be game enough to take on.
