1996 MG RV8 review from Australia and New Zealand

"Classic collectable; belongs in museum"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Car overheats, the problem is not fixed yet. Not sure, but could be the thermostat.

Fuel starving problem, haven't been able to solve this 1 either; it could be a vacuum leak somewhere, fuel filter and pumps changed many times, to no avail, and tank completely cleaned.

Brake master cylinder broken, still needs a fix.

General comments?

The MG RV8; for a start it's a Rover, so it's got serious issues, but on the positive side, it's a collectable classic with only 2000 units out there. It's very solid, but it's prone to Rover type problems; those little ones that nag you and can never be solved.

The car has the Range Rover V8 engine, weighs about 1100kgs and has about 190 horsepower. It looks great. It's a kind of commemorative remodel of the MGB; lots of torque and fun to drive when you can keep it running.
