1986 Acura Integra RS review from North America
"If I ever win the lottery, I'm buying a couple of Hondas and Acuras!!!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
This is what I had to replace when I had the car:
The catalytic converter twice, the first time with the entire exhaust. The protective boots covering the trans axle were cracking. The trans axle had to be replaced a lot of times! I should of replaced the clutch; however the transmission handled the speed shifting well.
Biggest problem of the car was that there was a hole that developed in one of the cylinders, which had the back of the car covered in oil.
General comments?
I really loved this car and I would buy another one in a flash. The design was terrific on the 86 Integra RS. It was so nice to drive. I drove this car a lot. Had 280,000 miles on it until I had to get another car.
I had put this car in street races. The speedometer on this car went up to 140mph, so I had to see if it would go up to that speed, but I got as far as 110mph because I had to slow down, but even at that speed it still handled pretty good.
3 years after I got the car, I upgraded the stereo system, something I had to do for the 90's, and I installed a CD player. The stereo system was so huge I had to take out the back seat.
