1996 Hyundai Lantra Si review from UK and Ireland
"Wolf in sheeps clothing!!!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Nothing serious yet!!!
Some rattles from the rear view mirror and rear parcel shelf.
Cost around £200 for the dealer to change the timing belt at 40,000 miles.
General comments?
For a 1.8 litre, twin cam, 16 valve engine, this car is pretty powerful (approx 136 BHP).
Replacing the standard air box with a high flow air filter increases economy and gives a lovely snarl under accelaration.
Drivers seat is multi-adjustable, but it has taken me a long time to find a position which I find comfortable.
The steering on my Si is very direct and the suspension is quite stiff.
Car has a tendency to oversteer on fast bends... easy to throw the back end out!!!
