1997 Infiniti I30 review from North America
"A conservative, luxurious sports sedan"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Rear emergency brake cables replaced under warranty.
Transmission shudders when disengaging overdrive.
Turn signal lamp had water intrusion which caused operating difficulties - also fixed under warranty.
Front part of the hood attracts chips and dings from road rocks like crazy.
Rear wheels cannot be aligned. If out of spec, must replace the axle or have a frame shop bend back to within spec!?!?
General comments?
What a fantastic engine! No wonder it's made Ward's Top Ten so many times. I love accelerating from a stop, spinning the tires and pulling away from "the pack"!
Highway cruising at 80+ MPH is smooth and quiet.
Excellent service received from dealer. All scheduled appointments come with free rental vehicle of current model year I30/I35. (Clever marketing ploy).
Plenty of room for a man of my size (let's just say Big & Tall)
Lots of rear seat room, comfy seats, excellent fit and finish.
Would definitely buy another one. Buy used, though, since the depreciation when new is un-justifiably higher than say a Lexus.
